
Illumination Shamanic Healing - Overview About the Treatment
Illumination is a shamanic healing process designed to help release deeply held emotional energy that has become stuck within the body. These emotions may have been carried for a long time and can include anger, sadness, guilt, shame, grief, or a lack of self-worth.
Often, these emotions originate from the words, actions, or behaviours of others and were never truly yours to carry. Illumination supports you in recognising these emotional imprints, releasing them safely, and restoring a sense of clarity, lightness, and balance.
This is a complementary and spiritual practice and is not a substitute for medical, psychological, or mental health support.

What a Session Looks Like
To help you feel comfortable, here is what typically happens during a session:

Sessions last approximately one hour

A consultation to explore what emotions you may be holding

You lie comfortably on a therapy bed

Grounding and protective intention-setting

Guided inner awareness to locate emotional energy in the body

Exploration of how the emotion presents (such as colour, size, density, or sensation)

A supported process of addressing the source of the emotion

Breathwork and rhythmic drumming to help release the energy

Use of a stone to support the release and integration

Energy clearing using rattle, herbs, and gentle cleansing

A calm integration period at the end
You are guided throughout and supported at every stage.
Working With Inner Awareness and Breathwork
Illumination uses gentle inner exploration, breath, and sound to help shift emotional energy. You will be invited to visualise, sense, or simply notice what arises.
Some people experience strong imagery, while others feel changes physically or emotionally. All experiences are valid, there is no “right” way for this work to happen.
Possible Sensations During the Session
Clients may experience:

Emotional release (such as tears, relief, or calm)

Physical sensations such as warmth, tingling, or lightness

Fatigue followed by clarity

A feeling of emotional spaciousness or grounding

This work can be deeply moving. Strong emotions may arise, and support is present throughout.
Aftercare Guidance
After your session, you may wish to:

Drink water and rest

Keep the rest of your day gentle

Spend time in nature or quiet reflection

Journal or reflect on any insights
-
Avoid alcohol or emotionally intense conversations for a few hours

Emotional shifts may continue to unfold over several days.
The Stone and Ongoing Integration
As part of this process, you will take the stone home with you. This stone supports continued integration of the healing.
You will need to:

Bury the stone in soil (garden, plant pot, or earth)

Ask Mother Nature to continue cleansing it
-
Offer something simple in gratitude regularly (water, flowers, food, etc.)
At some point, days, weeks, months, or longer, you will feel when it is right to retrieve the stone. It will then become a personal talisman to support grounding and stability if you feel emotionally unsettled in the future. Trust your own timing.

Will this remove emotions completely?
The intention is to release emotional energy that does not belong to you or no longer serves you. Many clients feel lighter, clearer, and more emotionally balanced afterward.
Will I have to relive past experiences?
No. You are guided gently and are never required to relive trauma. The focus is on release, not re-experiencing.
Do I need to be good at visualising?
No. Some people see images, others feel sensations or emotions. All experiences are valid.
Is there physical touch?
Only very gentle, agreed-upon contact will be used on the back of your head, and only with your consent.
